As the two entered the Frost Pavilion and crossed the threshold of Mo Liancheng's study, they unexpectedly found Mo Liancheng engrossed in painting. Indeed, this man spent his days either painting or playing the zither, and it seemed like he was on the verge of composing poetry. Sometimes, she wondered if he wasn't just putting on a show for the spies in the mansion but actually enjoyed it.
Surprisingly, the person she thought would be in Snow Pavilion, Mo Jingxuan, was also present. Hadn't he gone to spend time with Yuela to strengthen their relationship?
"What is it?" Mo Liancheng glanced at her indifferently, paid little attention, and continued painting when she entered. His hand paused for just a moment when she came in and then resumed the strokes.
"I came because there's something I don't understand, so I wanted to clarify," Qu Tan'er wasn't one to beat around the bush, avoiding unnecessary trouble.
"Oh? Go ahead," Mo Liancheng raised an eyebrow lightly, waiting for her to continue.
"Did Your Highness forbid me from leaving the mansion?"
"Indeed."
"I want to know why?" She didn't understand.
"If there's nothing urgent, then there's no need to leave the mansion."
"How would Your Highness know that I have nothing urgent to do?"
"This prince doesn't need to know."
"Your Highness, there must be a reason for forbidding me to leave the mansion, right? I don't know what mistake I've made to displease you."
"What do you think?"
"I don't know," Qu Tan'er's voice, usually soft and gentle, was unexpectedly straightforward.
He had seen through her personality a long time ago, so she didn't need to pretend.
"Since you don't know, just stay in Snow Pavilion. This prince has told you before, you shouldn't go to places you shouldn't go," Mo Liancheng didn't raise his head, continuing to paint.
"I'm tired, and I want to go out for a walk."
"If you're tired, stay in the room and rest."
"I want to buy something and need to leave the mansion." Qu Tan'er's stunning face became increasingly unpleasant. Regardless of the final answer, she felt she shouldn't give up easily.
She couldn't believe that Mo Liancheng would be so ruthless.
"Let a servant go, it's the same. They are all women," Mo Liancheng was even more ruthless, directly dismissing her words without compromise.
"Bang!" Qu Tan'er slammed the desk. She couldn't hold back her temper. The anger in her eyes was no longer concealed, and through gritted teeth, she said, "What if I insist on goinging?"
"Then it depends on whether you have the ability."
"Mo Liancheng, you're going too far."
"Oh, forgoing my title and using my full name to address this prince. Do you know what a crime that is?" Mo Liancheng raised his head slightly, staring at her with a half-smile, devoid of any anger, but his eyes contained a hint of playful mockery.
Finally, she got angry...
"Your Highness, you misunderstood just now," Qu Tan'er smiled, and from the moment Mo Liancheng raised his head, the anger on her face had completely dissipated, replaced by her usual gentle demeanor.
"Cough, cough, cough!..."
Mo Jingxuan suddenly coughed lightly, and the muscles on his face were on the verge of distorting. It seemed like he was on the brink of internal injuries from holding back laughter.
Meanwhile, the conversation between the two main characters at front of the desk continued.
"Oh, is that so?" Mo Liancheng asked with a faint smile.
"Yes, Your Highness, you really misunderstood just now. Tan'er was just asking if Your Highness could allow me to leave the mansion for a stroll," Qu Tan'er continued in a soft and gentle tone. However, the goosebumps that had erupted on her arms were beyond her control.
The rigid approach didn't work, so she had to try another one...
Miraisaesang's Notes: Isn't too late to try the soft approach though?😅
