The two returned to the Snow Pavilion and forcefully closed the door.
Finally, Qu Tan'er couldn't contain the anger in her chest any longer. She burst out, "Jing Xin, do you think that bastard is intentionally forbidding me from leaving the mansion? What the hell is this? Is he trying to imprison me in this mansion?"
"Mistress, have a cup of tea to calm down," Jing Xin quickly handed her a teacup.
Qu Tan'er took the tea without hesitation and drank it in one gulp.
"Mistress, are you hungry? Have some snacks to fill your stomach," Jing Xin suggested. She picked up a plate and placed it in front of Qu Tan'er, within her reach.
Qu Tan'er didn't refuse, she reached for a snack and stuffed it into her mouth. Leaning back into the chair, she frowned and said, "Jing Xin, fetch the medicine for my injury."
"Is there something uncomfortable, Mistress?"
"My hand feels like it's broken..."
After rebandaging the wound, Qu Tan'er felt much more comfortable.
However, the issue of leaving the mansion still troubled her.
So, after a quarter of an hour.
"Jing Xin, are there any people around?" Qu Tan'er glanced at the height of the wall and surveyed the surroundings. To be able to leave, this was her last resort.
"No," Jing Xin replied cautiously.
"Well, in a moment, stabilize the ladder for me. I'm going to climb up," Qu Tan'er said.
"But, Mistress, is this ladder stable? I'm afraid..."
"Afraid of what? I personally made this. Don't you trust it?" Qu Tan'er was confident in something she had made herself.
"But looking at the ladder..."
"How about you go up first to test it for me? Make sure it won't collapse, and then I'll climb up?" Qu Tan'er raised an eyebrow, waiting for her reaction.
Jing Xin vigorously shook her head, keeping silent.
Qu Tan'er didn't wait for her to respond; she climbed onto the ladder.
Thinking that the wall wasn't high, once she climbed up and looked down, her feet started to shake. Looking down from above and looking up from below, there was a significant difference.
She thought that the ladder she made was stable, but once she climbed up, she found that the seemingly stable ladder was now swaying.
"Mistress, why did you stop going up?" Jing Xin asked.
"Hmm." Qu Tan'er wanted to climb higher, but the ladder was shaking too much, and she also started to feel afraid. Helpless, she bit the bullet and climbed a few more steps.
"Mistress..."
"Okay, I'm up."
However...
"What is Eighth Sister-in-law looking at?" A figure leaning against the wall not far away hadn't taken their eyes off them since they arrived. He had stood there for so long, yet even he wondered if he truly had no presence.
Qu Tan'er frowned inwardly.
"Fourteenth Prince?" Jing Xin turned her head following the sound, seeing Prince Jingxuan walking towards them.
"I heard Eighth Sister-in-law and Eighth Brother just returned from the palace, so I came to take a look. But, Eighth Sister-in-law, is there some treasure on the wall or is there something interesting?" Mo Jingxuan approached with a light smile, lifting his head to conceal the amusement in his eyes as he stared curiously at the wall.
"Oh, nothing. The Empress Dowager said my body is too weak and needs some exercise, so... I am climbing up and down. Hehe." Qu Tan'er laughed awkwardly.
He didn't expose it, so she pretended not to know. Who was at a disadvantage here...?
