AMMIH Chapter 5.1 -- Dinner ~ Mirai's Saesang

Sat down at the table, Qiao Yin stared at the table full of food, not knowing where to start.

Xiao Yang saw that her eyes were gleaming but she was not moving, so he reached for the spicy crispy fish and placed a piece of fish into her bowl, as if helping her decided what to eat, "Try it, although the taste is not exactly the same as the restaurant."

Nodding her head, she immediately stuffed the fish into her mouth, the refreshing taste of the soup it was soaked in hit her taste buds first. Usually, the soup of the spicy crispy fish was chicken soup, then garlic and chili would be added and it would be stir-fried for a while, with other spices and sauces added as it cooked.

She had tried cooking this dish before, however, the soup she made was not as refreshing as Xiao Yang's soup --- he had used the soup from Dao Han Chicken, so the soup had the natural sweet and sour taste, which prevented one from getting tired of the taste. The fish itself had a beautiful golden crispy skin, while the meat was soft, that together with the soup made Qiao Yin reluctant to swallow.

"It's not as sweet as the restaurant's but it's more refreshing,.. the taste is very familiar.." Qiao Yin said as tried to remember what the taste reminded her of, closing her eyes for a bit then she went, " Did you swap out the sugar with tomato sauce?"

Xiao Yang casually placed a piece of cured fish into his mouth and explained, "Adding too much sugar would cause one to get tired of the taste easily, using tomato is a better choice." Then he asked, "How is the chicken?"

Truth be told, the taste of the cured fish was not bad. Although it was a common dish, she had been very careful with each and every step. The perfect control of the cooking highlighted the good points of the dish. Due to the cured fish's natural salty flavor and the meat being on the dry side it could be difficult, but biting into it revealed great texture and taste.

It seems that not only was she a foodie, but she also picked up many techniques to satisfy herself. Xiao Yang indifferently glanced at Qiao Yin as he picked another piece of fish.

"It's delicious!" Qiao Yin exclaimed as soon as he asked about the DaoHan Chicken, her facial expression also bloomed as she forcefully nodded her head, "But it also tastes from the restaurant. You used different spices, right?"

"Mmm." He casually responded as he served a piece of cured bacon into her bowl and then picked another piece for himself, "I have eaten those spices for many years, I am already tired of them."

The Tempeh Cured Bacon had a strong taste which was perfect to be eaten with rice. Every piece of cured bacon had fat on a third of it, but since it was cured bacon, the fatty area was not disgusting, it was very satisfying.

It was only now that Qiao Yin noticed that he was eating the dishes she made, feeling that her dishes paled in comparison with the others, she bitterly smiled, "They're all simple dishes, in comparison, it doesn't belong on this table..."

"It's pretty good." Xiao Yang truthfully said and then said, "Don't just eat the meat." Hinting for her to try the cabbage dish,

Five dishes for two people can be considered a lot. However both of them could eat a lot, the only thing that was left by the end of the meal was some cured fish and bacon. Qiao Yin was super happy when she saw this, the cured fish and bacon tasted better at the second meal, she already knew what she would eat tomorrow morning.

However, at this moment she could not forget the taste of Xiao Yang's three dishes.

She offered to help with the dishes, he did not reject and so the two of them stood together in the kitchen, one scrubbed the dishes, while the other rinsed them. When she entered the kitchen earlier she only noticed the delicious foods, so it was only now that Qiao Yin noticed that Xiao Yang's kitchen was very clean. Everything was organized, there were all kinds of knives neatly arranged in the knife holder, a microwave, an oven, even a barbeque stand, and many other pieces of equipment.

"Xiao Yang, the dishes you cooked were very delicious, why is it that you don't work as a chef in the restaurant?" She honestly thought it was quite weird, "From what I have seen, you enjoy cooking, you even have everything in your kitchen."

Xiao Yang rinsed the pot and then went about drying it, "Cooking is just a hobby, it's only when I am idle that I cook. If it's a job, cooking every day nonstop, it would get annoying."

"True." Qiao Yin said, nodding in agreement nodded as she agreed. Thinking about the food he made, she smiled again, "When you get married, your wife will be super fortunate. Girls nowadays love guys who can cook, and your conditions are very good, you would be a popular choice."

"Not really." Xiao Yang calmly denied, picking up the lid of the pot resting on the stove, " I'm very busy so it's impossible for me to be in the kitchen every day. My schedule also isn't stable, the time I spend at home is also not much, not many women will be able to stand it."

Hearing this, she remembered that he did have a girlfriend in the past. Qiao Yin had just moved across the hall when she had met his girlfriend. Apparently, his family introduced them, she had a nice appearance and was obedient, the perfect girl.

However, not even a year later, Qiao Yin heard that they broke up. About a year after that, he was introduced to another girl, not even half a year later, that one also left. Both girls couldn't stand his job, the time they spend together was very little and his feelings for them were not strong either, thus he didn't put in effort into salvaging the relationships.

Thinking about it, it definitely was a problem.

"Who says." Qiao Yin said with a smile as she arranged all the washed plates, "The people introduced by others are not always promising. The problem isn't always the person, it's just that you are very busy and under such a busy situation, it will not be easy for someone who isn't already familiar with you to get used to your lifestyle. Therefore, you need to find someone you're familiar with, someone who can understand you, and understand your job, that way dating and being together would be easier."

When Xiao Yang heard her explanation, he did not say anything. But this new viewpoint made sense with her explanation she presented. But then again, the other person was a lawyer, her spoken words are aimed to be persuasive, after all, it was part of her job.
