"How come you're even refusing this prince's approach now? Do you think that since you've married into the Eighth Prince's residence, you can ignore everything?" Mo Yihuai was slightly angered.
"I don't understand Your Highness' meaning," Qu Tan'er repeated the same line. She knew... she was not a competent spy at all. They had used the wrong person and chosen the wrong path. If Mo Yihuai had truly cared for the original "Qu Tan'er," in her view, it would have been nothing more than feigned affection, a man's playful attitude.
If it was true love, would he have sent her to Mo Liancheng?
Did he still want to play the grand role of sacrificing love to achieve a great cause?
She sneered...
"Tan'er."
"Does Your Highness have any other matters to attend to?" Damn, why did he have to show up now?
Tan'er? Calling her so intimately, but she really wasn't familiar with him at all.
"Did he really not go out last night?" Mo Yihuai asked directly.
Upon hearing this, Qu Tan'er understood. Getting straight to the point, it turned out that his affectionate act earlier was just to gather information. "Your Highness is joking. Didn't I just say? Last night, Tan'er was with His Highness the whole time." However, being "together" meant she had spent the entire night tending to his injuries.
"Don't tell this prince that you are now interested in him? Do you think this prince will believe it? This prince-"
"Is there anything else, First Prince?" Qu Tan'er took a few steps back, deliberately increasing the distance between them. This man, couldn't he read people's expressions? She had done enough, a sensible person should leave voluntarily.
"You-"
"If First Prince has nothing else, Tan'er will take her leave."
"How about accompanying this prince for a walk?"
"Tan'er is feeling unwell and wishes to return to her room." She wasn't complaining about her life being too long, but she feared that if she walked with him now, she might end up at the gates of the underworld.
"Then, talk with this prince."
"Tan'er is a bit tired, I'm afraid I won't be able to accompany Your Highness for long," she directly said.
"Are you still blaming this prince?" Although Mo Yihuai was displeased, he restrained his anger.
"Tan'er doesn't dare."
"You are blaming this prince."
Sigh!
Qu Tan'er sighed for the nth time in her heart. This man was too self-absorbed, or perhaps his inherent sense of superiority was too strong. Did he really think she was his woman? Was he trying to catch them in the act and interrogate her about what just happened? She felt dizzy.
"Your Highness, I really should go."
"When you have time, visit your elder sister. She must miss you," Mo Yihuai hinted as he looked at her meaningfully. The implication was clear, looking like Qu Pan'er was a pretense, and meeting with him was the real plan.
"I will remember," she joked. She wasn't afraid of living too comfortably. She didn't need to run into a hot pot to warm herself up.
Then, after saying her piece, Qu Tan'er decisively left, walking swiftly and leaving Mo Yihuai standing there, gazing absentmindedly at her departing figure.
However, no one noticed a figure standing not far away the entire time, witnessing their actions and even catching every word of their conversation...
MiraiSaesang's Notes: LOL Dude, you want her to accompany you, her old flame, for a walk in her new husband's house who happens to not only be your brother, but a clear political rival... Is this guy trying to get her killed? Even if she were sent here to be a spy, isn't he just trying to make her life and "job" difficult? He either doesn't care enough about her - I've seen the drama so I know it's likely not this, so it must be that he thinks out of his ass! There is no scenario where this is a good idea!😤
